  • Beef Tongue

Salted butter1 tablespoon

Cooking directions

  1. Place the beef tongue, onion, garlic and bay leaf in a crockpot. Generously season with salt. Pour enough water to cover the beef mixture.

  2. Cook on low for 8 hours.

  3. Transfer the beef tongue to a work surface and cool slightly. Peel the outer layer of the skin from the beef tongue and remove the rough end. Chop the meat into bite-size pieces.

  4. Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir the beef tongue meat until tender, approximately 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Serve in a warm tortilla shell with your favourite toppings.
