RECIPE:Shawarma Style Chicken Breast Strips

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Slices

Coriander2 tablespoons

Allspice1 tablespoon

Cinnamon1 tablespoon

Cumin1 tablespoon

Ginger½ tablespoon

Turmeric½ tablespoon

Black Pepper, freshly ground½ tablespoon

Cayenne½ tablespoon

Garlic Cloves, Peeled½ cup

Sea Salt½ teaspoon

Vegetable Oil2 cups

Lemon Juice1 lemon





Cooking directions

  1. Add garlic and sea salt to a food processor. Add freshly ground black pepper to taste.

  2. Pulse until smooth. Be sure to scrape down the sides and process the entire amount.

  3. Turn food processor down and slowly add 1 cup vegetable oil.

  4. Slowly add the lemon juice.

  5. Add the remaining cup of vegetable oil. Sauce should be thick and fluffy.

  6. Reserve in container until time to serve.

  7. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  8. Combine all spices and stir well to create Shawarma spice. Reserve in a sealed container.

  9. Place chicken strips in a bowl. Season with coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  10. Coat chicken with olive oil and Shawarma spice. Stir well.

  11. Transfer chicken to roasting pan. Bake for 40 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

  12. Serve with garlic sauce.
