Bring a traditional BBQ flavour straight to your kitchen with these ribs. Start with a dry rub and finish with our Carolina BBQ sauce and you will be amazed at how these ribs just fall off the bone!
Preheat oven or air fryer to 300°F. Remove thin membrane on the back of ribs by loosening with the tip of a sharp knife and pulling it off. Discard.
In a medium sized bowl combine all dry spices and mix well. Rub spice mix on both sides of ribs until evenly covered.
Wrap ribs in aluminum foil. Then wrap again in a second layer making sure there are no rips or leaks, if space is limited you may cut ribs into 2 halves and double wrap each half.
Place ribs in oven on a foil lined sheet pan and bake for 21/2-3 hours, until tender. If using air fryer, line basket with aluminum foil before placing ribs.
Remove aluminum foil and using a brush apply ½ cup of bbq sauce evenly over meat side of ribs. Set oven to broil or air fryer to 450°F.
Cook ribs for 5-8 minutes, until sauce thickens a bit and begins to char in some spots. Apply another ¼ cup of BBQ sauce and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Remove from oven/air fryer and allow to rest for 5-6 minutes. Cut into individual ribs and serve with some of the sauce.
