RECIPE:Indian Inspired Grilled Flank Steak

  • Light soy sauce½ cup

  • Olive oil½ cup

  • Honey3 tablespoons

  • Garlic cloves, grated3 cloves

  • Curry powder1 tablespoon

  • Black pepper corns, crushed½ tablespoon

  • Dried red chilies, crushed3 chilis

  • Cumin seeds½ tablespoon

  • Sea salt¼ teaspoon

Cooking directions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients for the marinade together in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Add the steaks to the bowl and turn the steak in it a few times.

  3. Wrap the top of the bowl and refrigerate for 3 hours, turning the steak occasionally.

  4. Remove from the fridge an hour or so before grilling.

  5. Preheat a grill to medium high heat.

  6. Remove the steak from the marinade and place it on the grill to cook for 2 minutes a side, basting with the marinade as you turn it.

  7. Baste again with the marinade and continue to cook for 2-3 more minutes per side.

  8. Remove from the grill and let it rest on a plate for 5 minutes or so.

  9. Slice thinly and serve with your favourite side dish.
