RECIPE:Grilled Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut

Medium yellow onions, thickly sliced | 2 onions |
Vegetable oil | 2 tablespoons |
Salt | 1 teaspoon |
Celery seed | ½ teaspoon |

Vegetable oil2 tablespoons

Heat the grill to medium heat.
Place the sausages on the heated grill and allow them to brown well.
While the sausages are cooking, put a cast iron skillet onto a cooler part of the grill and pour in the beer. Stir in the celery and caraway seeds and salt. Cover and bring to a simmer.
Once the sausages are browned add the sausages, sauerkraut, and sauerkraut juices to the pan with the beer.
Paint the sliced onion with the vegetable oil and grill on direct heat. Once grilled place them aside.
Simmer the beer, sausage skillet for 2 hours before serving. Cut the sausages into serving sized pieces before serving and place the grilled onions on top.
Serve in a skillet with mustard on the side.
