What is Blast Freezing?

HOW TO DEFROST TO KEEP PRODUCTS FRESH

  1. Refrigerator Method - safe and recommended for thawing

    • Place packaged meat in a container, tray, or on a plate on the bottom shelf of your fridge.

    • Allow a few hours per pound of meat to thaw.

  2. Cold Water Method - if you are in a rush

    • Place packaged meat in a bowl of cold tap water.

    • Thaw for 30 minutes per pound of meat.

Avoid Room Temperature Thawing - it is not safe . Bacteria can multiply as the outer layer thaws while the inside remains frozen
